If I was to guess I believe that the previous owner kept this in a book or in something flat after they received it from 1935 because it looks completely untouched.
C is one of the earlier prints from 1935
Condition wise it is as close to perfect as I have ever seen in a 1935 Bill. I would definitely say that this is a bill to get graded if you’re a collector who wants to have that extra prestige. I think you will do well and it will certainly be one to show off.
A "godless bill" refers to a US dollar bill that is missing the phrase "In God We Trust" which is typically printed on all US currency; it's not on a dollar bill because the phrase was only added to currency later in history
